Nigel Farage, the leader of the Brexit Party recently was subject of much debate. The background of the news forms on the raids that the Election Commission had conducted at the offices of the Brexit Party. Nigel Farage says that the raid was orchestrated by the Remainers Party to make the people of the Brexit Party look bad but it backfired on them as the Election Commission found nothing wrong at their offices. Farage says that prior to the raid, he had himself told many a time, that the Election Commission should come to visit the offices of the Brexit Party, but it had subsequently declined every time. Now, the Election Commission decides to raid their office without any cause. This is a clear indication that it is a part of the grudge that the Remainers have against him and the party.

It is well known that the Remainers and the Brexit Party are two opposite ends of the stick. Their ideology and political overview are different that their rivals. And this has been a cause of contention between them ever since they came into existence. Farage is saying that this raid was a deliberate attempt on the part of the Remainers to ruin the name of the Brexit Party and that the Election Commission played a part in this. Such behavior is unacceptable from one of the most respected government bodies and is certainly unbecoming of the body that has the responsibility to carry on the fair transition of elections. He specifically names Gordon Brown as the man behind this raid. Farage says that on the basis of one wrong statement from Brown, that was obviously meant to ruin the good name of the party, the Election Commission came to raid their party offices.

The allegations by Nigel Farage

Gordon brown had said that the Brexit Party was being funded by the Russians and this was cause enough for the Election Commission to raid them. Prior to this incident, a few days ago, Farage had himself invited the Election Commission to come to their offices and go through their proceedings to which they had said that they find nothing wrong with their working and actually like the way in which they carry on their business. Just after that, Farage again invited them to their offices to which they said that they find nothing wrong with their office and do not have the time to visit just before the elections. After going so far to praise the workings and the ethics of the party, the Election Commission committed a raid.

This, according to Farage is the collusion of Brown and the Election Commission to ruin the good name of the party and make it look bad just before the elections. He has spoken out against this biasness by the Election Commission and demands an explanation for the same. Also, Gordon Brown is the main person he holds accountable for this act.
