Musician Jake Black, the person who was also one of the co-writer of the Sopranos Theme Tune did pass away, as per the announcement of his own band Alabama 3. It is also been heard that after performing at a festival, he died a few days after that performance. He was ill after the show and was taken to the hospital once and he died while he was admitted in the hospital.
In 1995, along with his fellow singer Rob Spragg, Black who was a Glaswegian had founded the band Alabama 3. After that, a dozen albums were recorded by them with a fusion of country which was electronic by nature and it was groundbreaking. It was basically blues as well as acid house music.
Woke Up This Morning was one of the biggest hit and the opening credits goes to the Sopranos TV series which was all about gangsters who were from the US, and their fight with their emotions. David Chase who was the creator of The Sopranos responded in a very positive way to the song and wanted to use it for one episode which will casted on HBO, but the producers wanted that to be continued.
The band was paid with a huge amount of about $40,000 for one-time usage of the song. The song was not about the gangsters but a woman who was British by nature and shot her husband dead after dealing with her husband along with his abuses.
Black adopted an alias for his performance in spite of loving and liking all his members of the band and it was generally thought to be in the late ’50s.
Nick Reynolds did put a comment saying that with an acid quip Jack would have bought the house down and along with this, he would raconteur and wit. He also mentioned about losing a frontman who was unique by all his nature, lamented on his disciples losing their favorite minister, and lastly, he mentioned that though Jake Black is gone, he will never be forgotten and will always remain in their heart. Nick’s father and Black had a very good relationship and they would talk one topic over another and would chat for hours.
Black had made very distinct and huge fan disciples of his own who would remain the same after that he is gone too.
Even on the facebook page that the band maintains and operate there too, they mentioned about how sorry they feel and how deeply hurt they are with the passing away of their spiritual leader, teacher and guide Jake Black. The performance after which he has admitted to the hospital was that magnificent and eloquent that everyday applauded to their best, but it is still heart quenching for all his band members that his physical presence and voice will no more be felt. The band members and his fellow friends did mention that his words, his memories will remain in their heart forever.
