An American tourist was stabbed in his head, back and face in the London Bridge Attack paid a tribute to all those people who saved him after flatlining him twice. Robert Piersant pointed to a Metropolitan Police officer and said that PC Sam Philpot never left his side. He also further said that the doctors worked on him well in order to get him back together but if it wasn’t for Philpot then he wouldn’t have reached the hospital.

The London Bridge Attack and some more insights

Mr. Piersant and his wife who was also stabbed but managed to survive were among the 48 people who were injured. The initial 10 days of the inquests were focused on those eight people who were killed in the initial few minutes of the attack.

The hearing has started to look into the next phase of the attack – where people were continued to be stabbed in bars, restaurants and also on the streets in the market area of Borough.

While returning back to London to provide evidence at the inquests, Mr. Piersant said that first when he was approached by the by one of the attackers he thought he was being barged into by a drunk but later he saw a knife.

Further, he added, “As I pushed him back, I was looking at him. Also, he was looking at me back. He seemed to be very angry.” Further, he said that when the attacker took a step towards him he took a step back and that’s when he felt something at his left waist which made him blank out.

The story of Joyce: “I know he wanted to kill me”

Joyce Piersant had seen a pink knife in the hand of one of the attackers and she thought since it had a bright color it was just a toy. She also saw two men who were landing blows on her husband before one of them got to her.

The man who had a knife in his hand looked at her and hesitated for a while. She said that she would have described him to have questioning eyes. He then went ahead and got her stabbed in her throat. She said she knew he wanted to kill her and she could see it in his eyes.

This couple who had spent their day sightseeing around the capital had survived the horrible attack. Also, Mr. Piersant described that particular moment when he realized that he had no pulse left after he was stabbed in his head as well as his back.

The Judge thanked Mr. Piersant for the evidence that he provided and asked him to say one more thing. He thanked all those people who helped him to survive the incident. Especially the doctors and the police offers. It was said that Mr. Piersant was taken to the hospital by an ambulance but he did not have any pulse.
