Brexit agreement
As delivering Brexit or the separation of the United Kingdom from the European Union, is much bigger of a task than previously imagined by the Prime Minister of UK, the only way for UK to get Brexit is to get a good deal that puts emphasis on the future relationship between UK and EU. Almost 80 percent of the electorate backed parties also sort to achieve the same with a good exit deal.
Cross-party negotiations
As initially the majority on the Brexit agreement bill was aimed to be achieved by the backing of the conservative party and DUP votes, the failure resulted in the delay of the separation of UK from the European Union. So the Prime Minister tried to achieve a majority through a cross-party deal on the Brexit Withdrawal agreement. The six-week talk was not enough to form an agreement with the Labour party and thus the decision on the Brexit deal was not finalized. As the House of Commons triggered Article 50 of the European Union, the result of the referendum is to be delivered.
New Brexit Deal
In order to obtain more cross-party support, the Prime Minister spoke of a new Brexit deal that would contain changes that would ensure to protect the economic and constitutional integrity of the United Kingdom and deliver Brexit.
The new deal consists of amendments to make sure that the new worker rights bill will ensure the same working standards or even better than that specified by the EU. There will also be further amendments with trade Unions and businesses. The environmental protection will also be maintained at the same level prescribed in the European Union. To uphold the highest environmental standards, a new independent office of environmental protection will be established.
In order for the United Kingdom to have frictionless trade with the European Union, common rules will be maintained in the UK for goods and agri-food products. The area of customs will see changes further as it is difficult to decide. While some MPs want Brexit and still keep ties with the EU and others want to take the new opportunities that independent trade policies offer. So the final decision is put on the parliament’s vote that will provide the final say on the matter of customs.
As put up by the house, a second referendum will not be conducted without the vote of the House of Commons. This vote will take place before the final ratification of the withdrawal agreement bill. In case the House of Commons vote for a second referendum, then the government will be pushed to include legislation for such a bill and thus would require a deal on the withdrawal agreement. The same documents that were rejected cannot be put forth to the MPs, so the new Brexit deal will offer a ten point offer to all the members of the parliament who want the results of the referendum delivered.
The Prime Minister quoted that voting against the bill would mean voting against Brexit and would be against the wishes of the people who elected them.
