Former JLS member Oritse Williams has been accused of rape, and his tour manager Jamien Nagadhana has also been accused of sexual assault and assault by penetration. The alleged incident took place in December 2016 in Oritse Williams’ hotel room.
Oritse William has denied the charges saying that the victim showed interest in spending the night with him and the complainant claimed that the singer jumped on her when she went to his room to get her phone.
The incident took place when Oritse William, the alleged, was performing solo in a night club. He said that he met the complainant and her two friends and got along with them very well. He went on by saying that women demonstrated bawdy behaviour and were bouncing in his lap. His claims were backed by CCTV footage. He claims that the women initiated the encounter.
The girls and Oritse Williams went to his hotel room where two girls used the hotel room bathroom and left. The complainant returned to the singer’s room and said that she wanted to spend the night with Mr. Williams. One thing led to another and the sexual act that followed was consensual, the singer said.
The room where the sexual act was taking place was shared between Oritse Williams and his tour manager Jamien Nagadhana. At the time of the encounter between the singer and the complainant, Jamien was in the other bed under the covers.
Jamien Nagadhana, 32, said that he wanted to assuage the situation that Williams and the complainant had found themselves in, which he felt was awkward and cringe, as he felt the woman was not responding in the affirmative. He tried to initiate a threesome keeping in mind the vibes he said to have felt in the club earlier that night. The woman was on her back and he tried to get involved by touching her in an intimate area. As Nagadhana, from Hounslow, recalled that the contact must have lasted for about five to six-seconds before he backed off as there was no reciprocation from the woman. He further said that the woman did not resist nor shared any verbal contempt. The woman has accused Jamien Nagadhana of sexual assault and assault by penetration. He denies the charges on the grounds that the complainant and her friends were “handsy” with Oritse Williams as well as himself.
Oritse Williams who comes from Croydon and Jamien Nagadhana have known each other since they were 15. Jamien Nagadhana has been working as Williams’ tour manager as well as his driver. The trial is being heard at Wolverhampton Crown Court. The woman has accused both men of attacking her while she was in drunken or “zombified” state in the singer’s hotel room. The state that the woman and her two friends were in even forced one of the friends who had “blacked out,” to take a taxi home.
