UK’s six F35-B Fighter jets getting trained in Cyprus

Big news coming from the British air force that six brand new Fighter jet is going to get six-week training and test. On the 21st of May, they are deployed to the training centre which is located near the coastal city, Limassol in Cyprus. This will be the first abroad deployment of these British fighter jets. After six weeks of training system testing will also be performed for these aircraft.

Words from crew members

As per the reports, six jets were deployed for the training out of which three were flown by British Royal Navy and the remaining three were by pilots of Royal Air Force. As per the reports, the British air force is saying that this operation is for exercising the lightning, Dawn. Station commander of Royal Air Force has given brief about the operation. According to him the operation will help pilots to test logistics and will help them to control planes with their pace, also it will help to sharpen the skill of ground crew members. Overall the training will enable strike capability of the Air Force. Commander Snaith has also cleared that there are no arms involved in this training operation. Also, there are no planning have been made to conduct any combat mission from the Air Force. In the upcoming six weeks, these jets will be trained in water south part of Cyprus.

About F 35-B FIghter Jet

F35-B has proven to be one of the most advanced and expensive fighter jets. UK has ordered 17 new F35-B Fighter jet on the November 2018. As per the reports, Britain was willing to double the count of F35-B Fighter jet at that time. Moreover, they are planning to make this fighter jet total count to 138.F35-B Fighter jet has the speciality of having a lift fan setup on the cockpit of a jet, which allows the jet to take off in short span of time. Also, the jet is capable of vertical landing. This is termed as STOVL capability of any jet, short take-off and vertical landing. These aircraft are of single-seat capacity with a single engine that comes with integrated multiple sensors. The overall length of the jet is around 52 ft with a height of 15 ft. Top speed of this jet is 1.6 times more than the speed of sound. Which indicates the capability of the jet.

Cost of the program

As the F 35-B fighter jet is the most advanced and most expensive aircraft available in the history of jets. The total cost of a single jet is around 78 million pounds excluding the electronics and engine cost. The cost will be around 190 million pounds including every other cost.

As per the reports Once the training got over, Royal Air Force are going to make use of the jets. Hence it is going to be one of the strong action taken by British Air Force, Once the training got completed it is going to give more power to the Air Force and it is definitely going to increase the capability of pilots.
